American Fellowship Church
Our Ministers Speak
Since 1975, ministers ordained in the American Fellowship Church have offered spiritual service in communities across North America and in many other countries in the world. Over the years, we have received letters, notes, and occasional newspaper clippings telling us of their work and what their ministry means to them. Their correspondence is an honorable and humbling testament to the role of the Church in the life of our ministers and their communities. Following are samples from their letters, in their own words.
" Thank you for the privilege of becoming a minister. I have been blessed in so many ways since starting my ministry.... I now have a new outlook on life, new goals to try to reach, I know my life is now far more useful than it formerly was, and I have a great purpose to live for. I enjoy helping others find their way to a useful, happy way of life.... " Rev. G. A., Wyoming
" Through the past years, my work has been done mostly on Carnival midways with Sunday services held under a tent on the midway. It is very rewarding to be able to help people to understand God, pray for the sick, and be of assistance to those who come to you with their problems. May God bless you and our church and be with the church in all its ventures. " Rev. P. M., Oklahoma
" Since my becoming a minister of the American Fellowship Church, my life has been spiritually, mentally, and physically changed to a degree whereas I know that there is only one way to go, and that is with God. " Rev. H. W., Virginia
" Just a line to let you know how much it has meant to me since being ordained in the American Fellowship Church. We now have a small group of 22 people. We visit the sick in hospitals. We also make calls on the mentally ill in the State Hospital. " Rev. P. J., Ohio
" My work involves continual interaction with people of diverse cultures.... The American Fellowship Church has provided significant spiritual support for me along the way. Alaska also has many of the more well-known established churches active here, but they frequently tend to be dogmatic and condescending in their proselytizing. The American Fellowship Church is a welcome and important alternative. " Rev. B., Alaska
" My association as a minister of your church has been most gratifying and beautiful. Each day I grow closer to my understanding of Him and why He put us here to live, struggle and ultimately find happiness and Spiritual Knowledge of all. " Rev. T. L., California
" We just returned 2 weeks ago from a 5 state tour for the Lord, held one 2 weeks revival, visited 12 different churches, saw some wonderful works of the Lord.... We have us a station wagon with our name and address, Jesus Saves etc. on it and that gives us a lot of open doors and chances to talk to people about the Lord.... God Bless all of you & your work. " Rev. J. H. South Carolina
" I was skeptical at first about contacting the A.F.C., being wary of getting an affiliation I wouldn't like, but after reading the material that was sent to me, I must tell you how pleased I am to find one organized church that shares my own views about religion and the personal relationships we each have with God.... I am glad that I can be a part of the A.F.C. so that I can help others live better lives, and hopefully give constructive assistance. " Rev. D. E., New York
" Lawn Services are held at my home whenever a group so desires to gather or sometimes at a camp site. A lot of them want me to Baptize their children & also mothers, fathers, etc. We will keep in touch, God Bless. " Rev. R.C., New York
" I am not a U.S. citizen.... I was not a Christian in my country (Japan) and my great grandfather was a priest in our traditional religion... If I go back home, I must follow our own tradition and Christianity is No-no. After I was ordained [in the American Fellowship Church], my strength to fight these prejudices has tremendously increased and I am still an active member, as a choir member, women's meeting, etc.. I pray daily with devotional books, act as private counselor and do a lot of church work with pastors and congregation." Rev. T., Canada
" The American Fellowship Church has been a blessing to me. For most of my life since I was a young girl I have always wanted to be a missionary but did not have the money. I worked my way through college, and was a college professor for over 40 years. But then when your church ordained me, you made a dream come true. I am that missionary today here on the home field: "The Harvest is Great but the workers are few." I am now 73...and will not turn back now. " Rev. L. R., Maryland
" I didn't get ordained to run around marrying folks. I got ordained as a covenant to God, to remind me of where I was, and where God will lead me. To remind me that to be drunk in the ways of the flesh, is no comparison to being drunk in the Holy Spirit. To remind me that no one who has given themselves to serve the one and only God, and His Son Jesus, would ever want to return to the old ways of living in the flesh. To always remind me that there is one God, one Son, and one Holy Spirit, which makes up the Trinity, and that its the Holy Spirit which leads me, with direction from God the Father. To remind me that Jesus is, The Way, The Truth, and The Life; that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 Amen...
Our Father has been sending me all over my home state to minister to folks in need. I plant a seed, and He sends others to water it in most cases. Sometimes I get to minister to them more than once, and that in turn may lead to Baptizing them. This past summer I Baptized 6 folks, by His grace..
So I share this testimony with ya'll, and to tell you that He is moving His Holy Spirit upon many who haven't been aware of It up to this point. The good news is, Help is on the way. I urge folks to do this; stand up, look up, pray up, and speak up for Christ. If one doesn't have the blood of the Lamb upon the cornerstone of their soul, their lost. Upon repenting of ones sins, they will be saved. If folks don't live by His laws and commandments, as they are written, they had better start doing so. Amen." Pastor Bill
